What Day Is It? posted by Tommy on 10-24-08 02:32 PM |

Happy Friday everybody! Tommy here giving an update from Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey. I'm in New York City for the week for the CMJ Music Marathon and Film Festival, and I spent the night here at my girlfriend's dorm at SHU, and she's at work, so I'm bored, so I thought I'd give an update.
I went up to Jay's apartment for the weekend last week, or the week before (I can't remember already) and we made some significant progress on the new season. I've also been working on something by myself for a couple weeks now, that I've continued even here in NYC, and I'm hoping to have it out soon, along with the HD theater and a trailer of some kind.
Who knows, it might even be a Halloween present?

Happy Birthday Kill Faz! posted by Tommy on 10-12-08 10:46 PM |

Well folks - it's been 3 years to the day that the Kill Faz Pilot was released here on the interwebs. And in celebration of this glorious event, I'm proud to announce... that we'll be releasing new content shortly!
I know, I know, we probably should have had something ready be released today, but hey - that wouldn't really be in line with our greatest tradition: never having anything ready on time! But don't worry folks, we're sure to have something up soon. Those gigs and gigs of data in my "Kill Faz Season 2" folder aren't there for nothing!

Okay, This is Just Fucking Ridiculous posted by Tommy on 09-24-08 02:39 PM |

At this point it just seems like I'm making excuses, but on Monday, I decided to take a quick break and pwn some H3 n00bs. My laptop, Quismo, was busy burning some... let's say DVDs. Dinner was prepared, so I left him running when I went to eat. I returned to find a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) with weird graphical anomalies around the screen, which referenced the graphics driver as entering an infinite loop. After numerous restarts, repetitions of graphical anomalies, BSODs, and a hard drive reformat, I have diagnosed the graphics card as being fried. I've determined the problem to simply be him being old and the graphics card just dying (this eBay entry tells me that I'm not the only one, since the screen looks pretty much like mine (orange and green blocks everywhere). However, my mom seems to think that having the AC adapter plugged into an extension cord, then into a surge protector, THEN into the wall is a bad thing and a random electrical surge caused the problem. Either way, I'm stuck repairing him for hundreds of dollars out of my pocket, or sacrificing any Christmas presents to get a new one paid via parents.
Long story short, I have no computer, and Kill Faz Season 2 won't be done this month. Hopes shouldn't go away though - we've done a lot of work on the season, and it's way too late to just say "Screw it - we're finishing it whenever". We're still shooting for a fall release - just remember that technically, fall just started.
P.S. I reworked my implementation of the Videos list and the Theater to kinda prepare for the HD theater. It doesn't really look any different to you guys, but the backend is MUCH cleaner, and the actual Videos page file has been reduced in size quite a bit.

Update of Words posted by Tommy on 09-15-08 01:46 PM |

I'm not gonna lie - even though RLGL is overall more counter-productive than the 18-hour blackout my house had last night, the latter still didn't help. I was hoping to have H3R 08 ready to be released by now, but obviously that didn't happen. Hopefully the power will be back on when I get home - in that case I wouldn't be surprised if a new video was in the archive....
As for season 2 production, it's basically at a bit of a standstill. With Jay back at school, it's difficult finding at least a second person to help with filming. (As we can all tell from the Holiday video, filming with just one person doesn't go very well). But, staying optimistic, I'm not yet pushing back our current release schedule, even though we're technically behind on our production schedule.
In other words, new H3R tonight, and still be expecting new KF at the end of this month.
Edit: Nevermind: the power is STILL out, and I think I know why: on my way to school this morning, I noticed a detached tree limb sitting on top of a power line on the ground. I followed where the line would've gone (had it been connected properly), and lo and behold, it runs straight to the big box at the end of my driveway. Needless to say, I spent another night in the dark trying to solve a Rubik's cube, then raising my Pokemon in Pokemon Diamond. I'm now at school with about eight different things plugged in to the wall.

Monday Night... Football? posted by Tommy on 09-08-08 11:40 PM |

I was planning on posting a video with this update, but things just haven't gotten done in the way they were supposed to get done. I did film episode 08 of Halo 3: Really. It's definitely not going to be as funny as the other ones, but I ended up basically lecturing the camera for a half hour about the workings of Halo 3. Luckily, it seems good enough that I'll go ahead and post it anyway later this week. Really, I think that Halo 3 players will not only walk away more knowledgeable, but less likely to yell at the game after some crap happens. (And don't worry, I'm not releasing the whole half-hour, as that would be cruel - I'll probably whittle it down to the normal 6 or 7 minutes).
Also, that bad boy was filmed in HD, so I'll probably end up releasing the new HD theater with that. And since the HD theater would look like crap in the current site, I'll probably go ahead and put up the new site as well. Don't worry - it's not a completely new site or anything, it's basically just a different skin. Customized for KF awesome. I might go ahead and put up the screen test as well, but who knows? With school nowadays, anything is possible!
